Welcome to Jaz2

Whatever the setting, indoors or outdoors, corporate event, restaurant, art gallery, vineyard, cocktail lounge, jazz club, National Trust property, private garden, Jaz2 will entertain you with a class act of melodic, foot-tapping jazz.

Performing a heady mix of jazz standards, some Latin jazz, blues and favourite pop classics, JAZ2 features Ralph Sutton on piano and vocals by Cathy Williams.

We work with our own unique, professional backing tracks, arranged and produced by us in top studios with top jazz musicians on acoustic double bass, drums, and jazz guitar. These tracks gently underpin the vocals and piano to create the warm, full vibrant sound of a complete jazz quartet and vocalist.

JAZ2 brings you the timeless magic of a very classy singer and a fine jazz pianist.

Who we are

Ralph Sutton

Pianist, arranger and JAZ2 Business Manager.

Plays very melodic style of jazz piano. Influences include Oscar Peterson, George Shearing, and Junior Mance.

Has completed long-term residencies at the Royal Academy of Arts and the Hilton Hotel, London, and many other engagements elsewhere. He has also performed on the QE2.

Cathy Williams

Vocalist.

Has been influenced particularly by Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, but with her great natural ability, covers a very broad range of jazz standards, blues, bossa novas and contemporary music.

She sings with real feeling, flair and individuality and has a way of making songs her own.

She has a terrific stage presence, and her warm, engaging personality connects well with audiences. Cathy has also made live TV performances.

Nigel Williams

Sound Engineer.

We perform in venues varying from outdoor festivals to intimate jazz club/restaurant settings. Each has its acoustic challenges for the music to be balanced, clear, and enjoyable. With our very high-quality equipment, Nigel accompanies JAZ2 to ensure perfect acoustic quality whatever the environment.
